I received my bachelor's degree in natural sciences at Johns Hopkins University, went on to receive my master's of arts in theology at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, received my masters of education in math education at St. Johns University, and now am a third year doctoral student in the Learning, Literacies, and Technology program at Arizona State University's Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. I am currently certified in mathematics instruction in the state of New York. I have been working as a teacher, tutor, and educational consultant for the past 13 years.

I offer a complimentary one-hour service to go over the application process with the student and their family. After this initial consultation, I follow up with the family to recommend an appropriate service for their needs.
I am available on an hourly basis to give families advice about finding the right college, writing applications, standardized testing, and more.
I offer a complete service that includes evaluating the student's academic record, establishing reachable goals, advising the student throughout the application process, and advocating for the student.
I offer online tutoring services for all subject areas that I teach. I utilize a drawing tablet with Microsoft OneNote to mimic a whiteboard. Once completed, the entire session of notes are also emailed. For writing, I utilize Google Docs for real-time synchronous teaching and consulting.

I have been to a lot of tutors and academies for the SAT, but finally settled on Jesse teacher after just one session. He not only helped refine practical skills that could make a world of a difference during the test, but he also allowed me to acquire reading skills crucial for high school and beyond.
Jesse has been my mentor for seven years. Jesse is more than a good teacher. He will attentively assess his student’s strengths and weaknesses to effectively plan his classes tailored to each student. I still cherish the challenges and breakthroughs I have experienced during my high school years thanks to Jesse’s relentless passion and talent as an educator.
Jesse is not only a subject matter expert, but is also a focused tutor that thoroughly assesses your needs and tailors your studies according to them. Jesse does not teach from a template, nor will he provide you with one. He will enable you to think through problems on your own and train your critical thinking muscles, rather than rely on perishable skills such as rote memorization. But most importantly, Jesse easily strikes the balance between providing tough, focused instruction and providing patient, wise counsel.
Jesse taught me how to study for the SAT, and he gave me a lot of advice for writing my college application essays. With his wide range of knowledge about international affairs, history, and current issues, He always made classes enjoyable and fruitful. Outside the classroom, he was my best friend to talk about my career path, and he helped me figure out what kind of person I am and what I'm really interested in.
Jesse is a passionate teacher who endorses philosophical thinking. He not only helps student improve their test scores but also emphasizes critical thinking, which is the key to academic success in the long run.
Jesse is attentive and thoughtful. When I was his student, he made sure to understand who I was in order to find the most suitable teaching methods for me. As a result, I was more compelled to learn and understand problems, not just solve them.
